Yasmin Hernandez Art
Filiberto Nébula Postcards
Acrylic paint, collaged print, ink on black cardstock
4 x 6 inches

2 different cards, similar but each unique

These hand-made cards are based on my original 2015 acrylic painting on canvas of clandestine revolutionary leader Filiberto Ojeda Ríos as a nebula. This series, Más Allá de la Luna, envisions Puerto Rican revolutionary leaders as cosmic freedom fighters in the colors of the our flag.

Born on April 26, 1933, on September 23rd, 2005 anniversary of the Grito de Lares Revolution, Filiberto was assassinated by the FBI in his home in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico. He was 72 years old and known as the leader of el Ejército Popular Boricua/ Los Macheteros. These pieces are created as an initiative to help raise money for La Casa Museo Filiberto Ojeda Ríos.
