This small remix is based on my 1996 painting Estadista?, examining US colonialism in Puerto Rico and lifting the cause for Puerto Rican independence. The composition, of the Puerto Rican flag includes an image of Puerto Rican liberation leader Pedro Albizu Campos.
Artist Info:
Yasmin Hernandez is a Brooklyn-born and raised artist whose work is centered on liberation themes. She rematriated to her ancestral homeland of Borikén in 2014, where she is still based.
