A tribute to the Puerto Rican flag, with the image of one of our most iconic freedom fighters, Blanca Canales of Jayuya, leader of the 1950 revolution. The collaged image is a detail from my original painting of 2021.
Artist Info:Yasmin Hernandez is a Brooklyn-born and raised artist whose work is centered on liberation themes. She rematriated to her ancestral homeland of Borikén in 2014, where she is still based.
