Always true to the place where I was born and raised, the place where I learned calligraphy in an after-school program in the eighth grade. Calligraphy continues to be a part of my creative practice today.

Yasmin Hernandez is a Brooklyn-born and raised artist whose work is centered on liberation themes. She rematriated to her ancestral homeland of Borikén in 2014, where she is still based.
