Titled after the 1971 Rotary Connection song, I Am the Black Gold of the Sun,  the original 2014 painting is a self-portrait inspired by my home births.  Created in the colors of the lower chakras, this work speaks of mastering the energies of those chakras and overcoming fear to tap into the personal power that is needed to birth at home, unmedicated when so many around you are trying to impose their fears on you.

For this remix, I enhanced the image with geometric patterns in white and metallic gold ink.
